The Mouvement national des Québécoises et Québécois (MNQ) is a civil society movement, independent of political parties, bringing together 19 member societies throughout Quebec. Its mission is to defend and promote Quebec identity, language, history, culture, and heritage. It also orchestrates the festivities for Quebec National Day, National Patriots' Day, and Flag Day. The MNQ also devotes its efforts to coordinating the History Merit Awards and organizing the Rendez-vous culturels.
