Since January 22, a new soon‑to‑be‑essential restaurant has opened on Plaza St‑Hubert: Le Marci. With its retro décor, Italian‑American–inspired menu, artisanal wine selection, and above all great music, here’s what awaits you at 6600 Saint‑Hubert Street!

Le Marci is the project of a group of friends — all co‑owners and already well‑established in the restaurant industry — made up of Alex Geoffrion, Julien Patenaude, Marc‑André Patry, Kris Guilty, Hideyuki Imaizumi, and David Schmidt, who already knew the neighbourhood.

A place with mixed styles!

Le Marci is made up of two connected spaces, remnants of two former businesses that now form this new restaurant.

As soon as you step through the door on the left, you’re greeted by a retro décor featuring colorful stained glass, Tiffany lamps, candles dripping down bottles, wooden boards, and a festive yet cozy atmosphere bathed in beautiful sunlight.

These contrasting ambiances allow everyone to find their perfect spot — whether you’re meeting friends, grabbing a pizza, having a drink, or simply chatting and making new connections, look no further!

This restaurant, with its multiple inspirations and meticulous décor, is open from 5 p.m. until “late,” with the kitchen closing at 11 p.m., from Tuesday to Sunday.

A changing Italian‑American–inspired menu

On the menu: oysters, pizza, pasta, and artisanal wines carefully selected by sommelier Julien Patenaude.

Music at the heart of Marci

In the overall concept, or rather, in the project itself — music plays a major role at Le Marci. “Three of our partners are DJs, and Kris Guilty also owns a vinyl shop called La Rama Records. It’s the love of sound, the love of music, and the audiophile spirit that are intrinsic to the project.”

“In terms of materials, we try to improve the acoustics. We use cork, wood, and we try to reduce echo.”

The goal is to ensure that everyone can hear the music clearly while still being able to stay in their own bubble — to be in “a place where you can comfortably talk with your friends,” David summarizes.

For him, sound design and acoustic work deserve much more respect in the restaurant industry.

“Often, you go into places where all the materials are super reflective, the sound is really bad, it’s annoying — but you don’t realize it until you understand that the discomfort might be coming from that.”

Choosing the Plaza

The co‑owners of Le Marci see the restaurant as a social club for the neighbourhood — a location that was anything but random.

According to David, their projects are shaped by the location itself: the physical space, the architecture, and the existing urban fabric. Each project comes after a period of analyzing the neighbourhood to understand its needs.

More than four months after Le Marci’s opening and its warm reception, he adds: “We really feel like we’re part of a street that’s moving and changing.”

“It’s also a street that deserves to be better known. It’s a historic street, a street with a soul — even just in terms of urbanism and architecture, there’s no other street like it,” he concludes.

Visiting Le Marci means stepping into a warm, retro setting where you can enjoy a varied menu filled with mouth‑watering dishes. The team is ready to welcome you at 6600 Saint‑Hubert Street.
